FAMILIAR Brisbane faces from World Youth Day 2008 were behind the scenes at Pray 2010.

Volunteers and archdiocesan staff who had helped organise Brisbane events the week before pilgrims headed to Sydney two years ago were found again giving a hand during the July 7-10 prayer event in Brisbane.

Brisbane archdiocese's Youth and Children's Ministry administrative support officer Donna Longland, who played a pivotal role in the World Youth Day secretariat, said Pray 2010 was "a momentous event".

"From a 'behind-the-scenes' point of view I thoroughly enjoyed working with such a great team of people - staff and volunteers - who went above and beyond," she said.

"Their willingness and enthusiasm helped contribute to the overall success."

Caught in a "quieter Pray 2010 moment", Donna said "we've obviously got everything under control".
