FAITH sharing and new friendships were on the cards when the Coomera youth group enjoyed a Lenten-themed retreat on February 26.

Coordinator Maggie Moodley said 60 young people attended the retreat at the Gunundi Youth Camp and Conference Centre in East Ballina, New South Wales.

"We had people from different churches in the South Coast Deanery attend as well," she said.

"The retreat was hosted by the youth group and had Mass at daybreak, faith-sharing sessions, hiking, meditation and camp songs."

Coomera parish priest Fr Adrian Sharp not only celebrated the daybreak Mass but also was seen cooking pancakes and helping with the barbecue.

Today (Palm Sunday) Coomera youth will help lead a Mass "for all the children of the parish".
