Behind the camera: Brisbane's Angela Confeggi enjoys giving of her time and talent
IT'S no wonder Angela Confeggi is somewhat "camera shy".
The striking brunette has found her niche - being behind the camera rather than in front of it.
Capturing various subjects since she first "played around with SLRs (single-lens reflex) off and on" in childhood, the photojournalism major completed a series of photos based on what is considered "Sunday best" attire.
"I suppose that I've always been inquisitive and in one form or another a storyteller," Angela said.
"The series on the elusive 'Sunday best' outfit ... was a rather random thought that snowballed into an in-depth piece."
Saying she "hasn't left" the idea yet - as it has extended into her involvement with Brisbane Faith on Tap (FoT) initiative - Angela said the Monday night get-together with guest speakers is rewarding in many ways.
"It's a gift to capture the devotion that goes on monthly at the Pineapple Hotel," Angela said of FoT.
"There are some powerful moments ... the events are open, youthful, fun, thought-provoking and free."
Originally from Sydney, Angela's gifting of her time and talent capturing FoT, has also provided other "powerful" and door-opening opportunities.
"I have met a lot of great people and made some close friends that I definitely wouldn't have come into contact with elsewhere," she said.
"A few golden opportunities have eventuated as well ... a project behind the scenes at the seminary, photography jobs and other work contacts.
"Further, it has helped me with my craft, giving me fast-paced and deadline experience and battling lovely mood lighting issues.
"I'm always happy to know that the Faith on Tap crew appreciate my assistance but the nights have given me tenfold."
As an only child Angela said she has a "close bond" with her parents.
She's set to continue to make her mark with other interests in politics and music - but the "lens" set on one particular setting.
"I do see myself documenting people's stories well into the future," Angela said.
