SEVERAL hundred people, mainly from the Italian community, took to the streets of the inner Brisbane suburb of Wooloowin on May 2 to show their devotion to the Feast of the Three Saints.

They followed statues of the three saints - brother martyrs, St Alfio, St Fidalfo and St Cirino - on a parade through the streets around Holy Cross Church.

The parade was a highlight of the second annual Brisbane festival for the Feast of the Three Saints.

Secretary of the Brisbane organising committee for the feast, Guido Canale, said the festival was 'absolutely marvellous' and drew a crowd of more than 2500 people.

Mr Canale said about 600 people attended the Mass at the start of the festival, with many people having to stand outside the church.

Archbishop John Bathersby was principal celebrant at the Mass.
