Natural compassion

Published: 28 August 2011

IT is heartening, but not surprising, to hear of the compasssion Siena Catholic College and others (Page 3) are extending to the Morcombe family.

No one could know about this family's nightmare and not be touched by the unimaginable suffering the Morcombes have endured for almost eight years as they have waited for answers to the disappearance of their son and brother Daniel. Yet, as we try to comprehend the depth of their pain, Denise and Bruce Morcombe - in the words of Siena principal Graeme Hight - have been "a shining example of parental love".

Siena Catholic College and its captain Drew Leish-man are to be commended for organising such a public expression of the prayerful support the rest of the community is maintaining for the Morcombes.
