Inconsistent stance on life

IN relation to a serial dive-bombing magpie condemned to death but later reprieved, Senator Penny Wong is reported to have said on September 7, "Maybe I'm a softie. I just don't want to think about killing a creature".
Yet as a member of Emily's List she condones a pro-choice stance on abortion.
That's not exactly a logical, consistent and credible position regarding compassion, is it?
