LAST edition we had a major focus on the plight of the people in Chile devastated by the recent earthquake there.
This week our attention is directed closer to home, with several communities across south-west Queensland dealing with that region's biggest floods in 120 years.
There is no comparison in the scale of the tragedies, and fortunately there has been no loss of life as a result of the Queensland floods. Nevertheless, there is certain heartache among the communities because of the damage the floods have caused.
When we see these people interviewed by the media, the strength of their community spirit and their willingness to stand by each other shines through.
They would be grateful of any help and prayer we can offer, especially since they have had to struggle through years of drought.
